What is T-Scan III?

T-Scan III is a dental occlusal analysis system. Tekscan created this powerful diagnostic tool in response to dentists requesting an easier, more accurate way to measure occlusal timing and force.

Most methods to assess the balance the forces of occlusion, such as articulating paper, waxes, and pressure indicator paste, are not sensitive enough to detect simultaneous contact, and none measure both biting time and force. When perfecting a balanced bite it is no longer necessary to rely on articulation paper alone. T-Scan II is the only tool to quantify the timing and force of the patients’ bite, from first contact to last.

Now you can evaluate occlusal forces with on-target occlusal analysis rather than relying on subjective bite registration materials alone.

Because the T-Scan can measure force over time, it is an indispensable tool for appraising the sequential relationships of a mandibular excursion. You can view, on screen, a patient sliding from MIP or CR position into a lateral excursion. This is instrumental in locating occlusal interferences, determining the relative force on each interference, and evaluating the potential for trauma caused by the occlusal interferences.

After recording a T-Scan dental occlusion movie you can store the data in your computer and retrieve it as needed. T-Scan's vivid, full-color graphics can be transferred into other documents for patient records or insurance reports. These same images can be used to raise your patient education standard to the next level.
